Detroit Metal City a Gag Manga serialized in Young Animal starting in 2005. A live film adaptation directed by Toshio Lee is to appear in Japanese theaters on August 23, 2008. A 24 episode anime OVA series will be released on August 8, 2008, with each episode being approximately 5 minutes long.
